FIRE Fire
STATS:
Level: 1
Price: 100

Effect: Damage
Target: One Enemy
Power: 10
Element: Fire
Learned by: Ninja
Red Mage/Wizard
Black Mage/Wizard
Cast by (enemies): MANCAT, R.GOYLE

INFO
Fire is a must-have for Black Mages. It's good for scoring decent damage on stronger enemies like Garland and Ogres when it's all you have. Lit will work just as well for that though. Red Mages will get less use out of it, since they can get decent damage from physical attacks. For either class it's great on enemies that are weak to fire, like Creeps. While Black Mages should get both, if your Red Mage has to choose between this and Lit, Lit is probably slightly more useful.

TIAMAT2

INFO
This is one of the most useful spells in the game. Get it, get it, get it! This spell drasticaly improves your killing power once you have it. It's very helpful with Creep/Ogre battles and undead, and can kill a whole party of weaker monsters at once. It's VERY useful for leveling up at Finger Point with monsters like Trolls, ZomBulls, and especially Frost Wolves. When you get the Mage Staff you can cast this spell for free.

INFO
Another must-have, Fire3 is good for really strong monsters that are weak to Fire, like Frost Dragons.

MYTH/ORIGIN/OTHER GAMES
Fire has the same name in the Japanese version, and is called Fire1 in FF Origins. FIR2 and FIR3 are Fire2 and Fire3 in FFO. In the Japanese version they're called Fira and Figa. The -ra suffix is apparently used in Japanese to form the plural of some words. That may account for the spells Fira, Blizzara, and Thundera where the -ra indicates the second spell in a series. I don't have any explanations for -ga, as found in Figa, Blizzaga, and Thunga, which indicates the most powerful spell in a series. I'll let Merriam-Webster tackle Fire for me: "the light or heat and esp. the flame of something burning (as in a stove or fireplace)". You'll find fire-related spells in just about anything and everything with magic, and as far as I know the Fire spell is in every FF and is called Fire or Fire1 in all of the English versions. The stronger spells, Fira and Figa, return in all the numbered FFs (except 2) as well as Tactics and Crystal Chronicles. They are usually called Fire2 and Fire3 in English versions, and sometimes Fira and Firaga. FF2 has only one of each spell, but you can increase its power from 1 to 16. Even though it uses the same sprite, NUKE/Flare is NOT Fire4 as it is nonelemental.
