INFO
Giants are found in groups together or with Iguanas or Grey Imps and Werewolves. Giants are found in the Earth Cave & Gurgu Volcano and the overworld in the middle and end of the game.

STRATEGY
Being in the Giant category, the Giant Sword (Great Sword) works better against them in the WSC version. Earlier in the game a group of 3 or 4 may be too much for you.

MYTH/ORIGIN/OTHER GAMES
In the original Japanese version (and FF Origins) the Giant is a Hill Gigas. Gigas is Latin for "giant" and I debated whether giant or gigas would be the better translation. I decided on gigas because the Japanese name for the Titan is kyojin, which means giant. Hill gigas must be based on the hill giants found in AD&D. Hill giants are huge, stupid, slightly ape-like humanoids who survive by hunting and pillaging. The hill gigas returns in FF2, FF6, and FF9, and other types of gigas appear in FF5, FF10, and FF10-2. Other kinds of giants appear in FF2, FF3, FF4, FF5, FF8, FF9, and FF Tactics.
