ElfLand visit 1

Welcome to ElfLand, a great place to visit, but I wouldn't wanna live there, what with there not being any houses. This is a great town though, you can buy the fabulously powerful (not to mention fabulously expensive) silver sword and there are 2 levels of magic available here. Although most towns keep their names from the Japanese version, ElfLand is slightly different. Depending on your interpretation it's called ElfTown, Town of Elf, or just Elf.

Talk of the Town

Yes, yes, we're on that.

The first two tombs aren't of any particular interest...

...but the third one is a Dragon Warrior reference. If you don't know, the character you play in DW is the "descendent of Erdrick". In the Japanese version, this is instead a Zelda reference. It basically says "Here lies Link". (Well, literally, I think it says "Link sleeps here".) It's back to Link in the PSX/GBA versions (except the European PSX version has Erdrick).

Huh? The Dark Elf is a dominatrix? Oh wait, wait, nevermind.

Okay, so now it's the power of the Dark Elf that will dominate. Just clearing that up.

Alright, is anyone else getting turned on right now?

Hmm, silver. Perhaps I will purchase some swords and armors made of silver.

Lurks, does he? Is seclusion a fancy word for women's underwear? Cuz I've heard things...

Doesn't this just sound like it lost something in the translation?

There's a shocker.

Local Commerce in Action

Seems the inn price has doubled since Pravoka.

Some nice weapons are for sale here. Hey, why aren't any of the shopkeepers elves? Anywho, Fighters and Red Mages should get silver swords, a Thief should consider getting a sabre, a Black Belt should get iron nunchucks if you are at a low enough level, and a Black Mage should pick up a large dagger.

Black and Red Mages should absolutely, positively, definately get FIR2 and LIT2. HOLD and LOK2 are of no particular interest.

White Mages should get CUR2 and AFIR, a Red Mage could get one or the other but CUR2 is probably a better idea unless you don't have a White Mage. You won't be needing AFIR until later tho. A White Mage may also want HRM2, you should definately get it if you don't have any black magic users.

All I can say is ouch.

More good armor's available here. Get everybody except the Fighter a cap. Fighters should pick up an iron shield and a wooden helmet. Getting the mages, Black Belts, and Thieves Copper Bracelets is a good idea, but not as important as some other purchases.

Again, be sure to get yourself enough HEAL and PURE potions. Maybe about 20 HEAL, and 10 PURE. Depending on the party you may want more HEALs. (If you don't have a white magic user you should have at least 30.)

ICE2 and FAST are both great spells, both Red and Black Mages should get them. CONF is pretty good too (sort of like SLEP but better) but eventually you'll have the wizard staff which casts it for free.
PURE is pretty handy, AICE is a good choice for your primary white magic user. You'll probably never need AMUT, and FEAR is only good to play around with.

Apparently the Prince must awaken soon, or the Dark Elf will dominate. Astos wears a disguise and lives in seclusion, and there's a spooky castle to the northwest. There's also the Dwarf Cave to visit.

If you are on the recommended path you'll be heading to the Dwarf Cave Area.
THEIR WAY

On my path you've already been there so you're going to the Marsh Cave / Northwest Castle Area.
