Worthless Chapter 3 The Old Boss The Light Warriors headed north across the bridge and started encountering slightly tougher enemies, such as Gray Imps and Mad Ponies. They curved west around a mountain and happened upon a cave. Inside, they discovered a witch. She needed her Crystal to see, but someone had stolen it. She would reward them with an Herb if they could return her Crystal. They found some talking brooms. However, when Maim tried to make pleasant conversation, the brooms would always respond by saying, "TCELES B HSUP!" Maim, who was a bi-lingual mage, discovered that they were speaking Broomish and that they were telling them to "Push B Select", whatever that meant. Burn drew with his finger on a dusty skull the letter B and the word Select. When he pushed on them, a map fluttered out of the cave ceiling. In the meantime, they found a couple of Heal and Pure potions in a few open treasure chests. Then they left the cave, returned to the general area of the Conerian Bridge, and headed east, the only other direction. On the way to the next town, everyone managed to reach Level 4, according to the Orbs' Status Menu. The next town was Pravoka, a bustling little seaside port that was under siege by pirates. The warriors found the captain soon. He recognized Burn immediately. "'Arr, Burn, ye joined up with do-good landlubbers!" he said in a stupid-sounding seafaring voice. "And I'm proud of it, Bikke," the red mage replied. "I need our old ship so I can carry out my business." "You call me Boss!" Bikke shouted in his gruff voice, and he called on his nine mates to attack our heroes. This was an easy task for the Light Warriors. Even a blind swing of Silk's hammer managed to kill a pirate. A few spells from Maim and a little swordplay on Red's and Burn's parts finished the battle with few scratches. "Wanna try taking us on alone, 'Boss'?" Burn taunted after killing the last of them. "No! No! Take the ship, take the ship!" Bikke blubbered, cowering in fear of his former employee. "I'm not an expendable man anymore, Bikke," Burn said coldly, With that, he ran Bikke through with a Rapier and Bikke saw no more. "Well, the ship's ours for sure now," Burn said, wiping the blood off his sword. The warriors shopped and bought the best of the weapons, armor, and magic they could at Pravoka. Then they stayed at the Inn for a seemingly exorbitant fee and started sailing south toward their next destination.
