Worthless Chapter 11 The Wind Stops Now they were to head for Lefein. The Lefeinish were the only living civilization that knew how to enter the Sky Castle. However, they had to walk quite a ways to get into the city, and when they did, all that the locals were capable of saying was, "Lu... pa..." They knew that Dr. Unne, from Melmond, was capable of translating any language. So they headed out for Melmond. Thanks to the Slab, Dr. Unne could decode the language. So they took the long journey back to Lefein to see what they were saying. Now that they didn't have to worry about cracking the code, they found the city to be beautiful. It seemed to be made almost entirely out of white marble; marble buildings, sidewalks, fountains, most everything was marble. The locals, when directly questioned, had a lot more to say than "lu-pa". They talked grandly about their former heroes, the Sky Warriors, and about how weak the Fiends used to be, and about how the Sky Warriors disappeared when they went to the Temple of Fiends. They spoke of their army of airships and their exquisitely built Sky Castle, their pride and joy. But Tiamat had taken over the Sky Castle and since then any mortal who somehow made it up Mirage Tower couldn't possibly get through the castle. Another man gave them the Chime that would gain their entry into the Mirage Tower, the gateway into the Sky Castle. By feeling their way through a line of trees, the Four came across two magic shops, the only shops in town. The price of their spells was exorbitant but well worth it, for they were the Ultimate Spells of Legend: Life2, the great spell of revival, and Nuke, the ultimate pathway to destruction. Then they left and headed for the Sky Castle. Silk found her supreme weapon: Thor's Hammer, a purple mallet charged with blue-white vinelike bolts of electricity. Red also found Burn's greatest weapon, the Sun Sword. For a change, Burn took it. It was a beautiful silver-bladed thing with a gold hilt, and it had a golden sun farther down where the blade and hilt met. The enemies were fairly weak. They had run-ins with large groups of Vampires, indeed those identical to the one they had slain in the Earth Cave. With little effort they made their way to the Sky Castle. The Castle was somewhat of a maze, but they made their way through all right. They found Adamant, with which they could go to the dwarves and forge Excalibur, or XCalbur for short, the legendary sword of King Arthur. They also found White and Black Shirts. Armor-wise, they were weak, but they could cast Invisibility2 and Ice2 respectively. They saw a great bridge ahead. They took one step... and were launched into a battle with the fearsome machine Warmech! It took all their efforts to beat him, taking blasts of Fade, Nuke, and hits from Red and Burn, both on Fast, to beat him, and even then they were on the brink of death. When he did die, however, he paid an incredible amount of gold ("Spending fees," Burn said, which made Silk chuckle and smile). After the bridge, though, they were at Tiamat. Tiamat was easy picking. He went down quickly after being exposed to the poison gases of Bane. Finally, the Fourth Orb was lit, and the journey ended. Or did it?
